Eight Sleep has partnered with TrueMed to make it simpler for you to use your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) when purchasing Eight Sleep Pod Covers and Mattresses. By following the steps below, you could save up to 30% on select Eight Sleep products.


1. How HSA/FSA Coverage Works with Eight Sleep

  • Eligible Products: Many core products, including the Pod Covers and Mattresses, may be considered qualified expenses under certain HSA/FSA plans.

  • TrueMed Partnership: TrueMed provides a quick medical intake process. If you are eligible, Truemed can issue a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN).


2. Using your HSA/FSA for Eight Sleep Purchases

  1. Add Products to Cart

    • Visit eightsleep.com and select the Pod Cover or Mattress you want.

    • Click Add to Cart and proceed to checkout.

  2. Choose HSA/FSA at Checkout

    • On the checkout page, select the Pay with HSA/FSA option.

    • You’ll be directed to TrueMed’s clinical intake survey.

  3. Complete the TrueMed Survey

    • Fill in the short health questionnaire.

    • If approved, TrueMed will provide any required LMN for your HSA/FSA plan.

  4. Enter Your Payment Details

    • If your HSA/FSA card can be processed, enter it directly.

    • If not, pay with a personal card and keep all your receipts and LMN to file for reimbursement later.

  5. Save Your Documentation

    • Once your order is confirmed, keep the email receipt, invoice, and LMN (if applicable).

    • This documentation will be key if you need to submit a reimbursement claim.


3. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

3.1 Will I always need a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN)?

Yes. Mattresses (including the Eight Sleep Pod) are not automatically classified as eligible for HSA/FSA reimbursement, so an LMN is typically required to demonstrate medical necessity. Fortunately, TrueMed makes the process easy: just complete their quick survey and, if you qualify, they’ll provide you with an LMN to submit to your HSA/FSA provider.

3.2 Can I use my HSA/FSA card at checkout?

Absolutely! Many customers can simply enter their HSA/FSA card details at checkout with no issues. However, every HSA/FSA plan is different, and some cards may not go through if your plan places purchase restrictions on certain product categories. If this happens, don’t worry—you can still pay with a personal card and then file for reimbursement with your plan. If you’re unsure whether your card will work, we recommend checking with your plan administrator before you buy.

3.3 What if my HSA/FSA card is declined?

You can pay with a personal debit/credit card and then file a reimbursement claim with your HSA/FSA provider, including any documentation (receipt, LMN, etc.) they require.

3.4 How long does it take to get reimbursed?

Each HSA/FSA plan handles claims differently. Once you submit a claim with all required paperwork, most plans process reimbursement within a few weeks.


4. Special Orders & Custom Invoices

Occasionally, you may require items like a replacement Pod Cover or an out-of-warranty part. In these cases, you’ll receive a custom invoice from Eight Sleep instead of using the standard checkout process.

  • No HSA/FSA Integration for Custom Invoices: The Eight Sleep custom invoice system currently cannot accept HSA/FSA cards.

  • Out-of-Pocket Payment: You must pay with a personal card.

  • Obtain Your LMN First:

    1. Contact Truemed Support to request the TrueMed clinical intake survey link.

    2. Complete the survey and obtain your LMN.

    3. Pay the custom invoice once your LMN is in hand.

  • Seek Reimbursement: After payment, submit the invoice and your LMN to your HSA/FSA administrator for potential reimbursement.
