Managing Backdate Requests
Purpose
At some points, a customer will email us asking for a letter of medical necessity to be backdated. Generally, this request is made due to a purchase occurring prior to obtaining a letter of medical necessity. In some cases, we can backdate a letter if patient-provider relationship has been established.
Customer Has One Qualification Survey
In the case that a customer has one completed qualification survey associated with their Truemed account, utilize this process to establish the furthest date back we can backdate a letter.
Steps to Follow
Step #1: Search for the customer in the “LMN Verifications” tab of Core.
Step #2: Scroll to the “Created At” column.
Step #3: The date listed under the “Created At” column is the date the customer completed the qualification survey, establishing a patient-provider relationship. This is the furthest date back a letter could be dated.
Customer Has Multiple Qualification Surveys
In the case that a customer has multiple completed qualification surveys associated with their Truemed account, we would want to treat each individual qualification survey using the same process outlined above.
Reasoning
Each qualification survey might provide slightly different information so it needs to be evaluated on its own versus as a complete client profile.
Each qualification survey might be evaluated by a different provider, resulting in different timestamps for patient-provider relationship with a specific provider.
