Managing Backdate Requests

Edited

Purpose

At some points, a customer will email us asking for a letter of medical necessity to be backdated. Generally, this request is made due to a purchase occurring prior to obtaining a letter of medical necessity. In some cases, we can backdate a letter if patient-provider relationship has been established.

Customer Has One Qualification Survey

In the case that a customer has one completed qualification survey associated with their Truemed account, utilize this process to establish the furthest date back we can backdate a letter.

Steps to Follow

  • Step #1: Search for the customer in the “LMN Verifications” tab of Core.

  • Step #2: Scroll to the “Created At” column.

  • Step #3: The date listed under the “Created At” column is the date the customer completed the qualification survey, establishing a patient-provider relationship. This is the furthest date back a letter could be dated.

Customer Has Multiple Qualification Surveys

In the case that a customer has multiple completed qualification surveys associated with their Truemed account, we would want to treat each individual qualification survey using the same process outlined above.

Reasoning

  • Each qualification survey might provide slightly different information so it needs to be evaluated on its own versus as a complete client profile.

  • Each qualification survey might be evaluated by a different provider, resulting in different timestamps for patient-provider relationship with a specific provider.
